The performance requires different working conditions, and the coupling needs to have the following properties: (1) Movability. The movability of the coupling refers to the ability to compensate for the relative displacement of the two rotating members. Factors such as manufacturing and installation errors between connected components, temperature changes during operation, and load deformation all put forward requirements for portability. The movable performance compensates for or mitigates the additional load between shafts, bearings, couplings and other components caused by the relative displacement between the rotating members.
(2) Buffering. For the occasion of frequent load start or working load change, the coupling needs to have elastic elements that play a cushioning and vibration damping role to protect the prime mover and the working machine from being less or not damaged.
(3) Safe, reliable, with sufficient strength and service life.
(4) The structure is simple, easy to assemble, disassemble and maintain.
Selection of Coupling TypeSelection When selecting a coupling type, you should consider the following:
(1) The size and nature of the required transmission torque, the requirements for buffering and vibration damping functions, and whether resonance may occur.
(2) The relative displacement degree of the two axis axes caused by manufacturing and assembly errors, shaft load and thermal expansion deformation, and relative motion between components.
(3) The permissible dimensions and installation methods, and the necessary operating space for assembly, adjustment and maintenance. For large couplings, it should be possible to disassemble and assemble the shaft without axial movement. In addition, the working environment, service life, lubrication, sealing and economy should be considered, and then refer to the characteristics of various couplings to select a suitable coupling type.
