The self-dissolution rate of the zinc anode is quite low.
There are many types of zinc anodes, including high-purity zinc, Zn-Al series alloys, Zn-Sn series alloys, Zn-Hg series alloys, Zn-Al-Mn series alloys, Zn-Al-Cd series alloys, etc. In the past, pure zinc anodes were basically used in China, and then ternary zinc alloys, namely Zn-Al-Cd series alloys, were mainly used.
The corrosion behavior of zinc alloy anodes is closely related to temperature. When the temperature exceeds 55~60℃, there is a phenomenon of potential polarity reversal. The original zinc alloy anode turns into a cathode, which instead accelerates the corrosion of the originally protected steel structure. In seawater, the dissolution of this zinc alloy anode is uniform at 20℃, but intergranular dissolution begins to appear at 40℃, and there are obvious transgranular corrosion and grain shedding phenomena at 70℃. The current efficiency of the sacrificial anode also decreases as the seawater temperature rises.
The cathodic protection method of zinc blocks is to connect a metal or alloy that is more likely to lose electrons to the steel equipment to be protected. For example, this method is used in the protection of steel gates. A more active metal, such as zinc, is connected to the steel gate. In this way, when electrochemical corrosion occurs, the more active metal than iron is corroded, while the iron is protected. Usually, a certain number of zinc blocks are installed at the stern of the ship and below the waterline of the ship's hull to prevent the corrosion of the ship's hull, etc., which is the application of this method. At present, in addition to the protection of steel equipment in seawater or rivers, electrochemical protection is also applied to prevent the corrosion of cables, oil pipelines, underground equipment, and chemical equipment, etc.
Jiaozuo Libo Anticorrosion specializes in producing products specifically for cathodic protection projects: zinc alloy sacrificial anodes, aluminum alloy sacrificial anodes, magnesium alloy sacrificial anodes, sacrificial anodes, magnesium strips, zinc strips; as well as supporting products: test piles, reference electrodes, thermite welding flux, etc., and all series of impressed current cathodic protection materials.
Zinc anodes are suitable for ship hulls, ballast tanks, and offshore platforms. They are also often used in the form of rings for submarine pipelines, all with excellent results. The zinc alloy anodes of our company are made of high-quality zinc and various components to ensure a large current output and a long service life. This product is approved by the China Classification Society (CCS), and its quality standards comply with GB/T4950 - 2002. The large semi - continuous casting performance can cast magnesium rods and alloy rods of various specifications! The anodes produced by our company guarantee quality, offer preferential prices, and ensure timely supply!!!
