The Fisher 3582 series pneumatic valve positioners and the 3582I type electric-pneumatic valve positioners are used together with the membrane actuating mechanism and straight-through control valve assemblies. The pneumatic valve positioner receives an input signal from the control equipment and regulates the output to the working pressure of the control valve actuator, thereby providing a precise valve stem position proportional to the pneumatic input signal. The 3582I type electric-pneumatic valve positioner consists of a 582I type electric-pneumatic converter installed on the 3582 valve positioner.

3582A model - Pneumatic valve positioner without bypass, without pressure gauge.
3582C model - Pneumatic valve positioner without bypass, using car tire type valve instead of pressure gauge.
3582D model - Pneumatic valve positioner with bypass, using car tire type valve instead of pressure gauge.
3582G model - Pneumatic valve positioner without bypass, equipped with input signal, air source and output pressure gauge.
3582NS model - Pneumatic valve positioner for nuclear operation conditions, with or without bypass, using car tire type valve instead of pressure gauge.
3582I model - Electric-pneumatic valve positioner, without bypass, but with
