Carbon steel elbow is first divided according to its radius of curvature, which can be divided into long radius elbow and short radius elbow. A long radius elbow refers to a pipe with a radius of curvature equal to 1.5 times the outer diameter, i.e. R=1.5D. Short radius elbow means that its radius of curvature is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, that is, R=1.0D. (D is the elbow diameter, R is the radius of curvature.) D can also be expressed as a double. If divided according to the pressure level, there are about 17 types, which are the same as the pipe standards in the United States, including: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40s, STD, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80s, XS; Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160, XXS, the most commonly used are STD and XS. According to the angle of the elbow, there are 45° elbows, 90° elbows and 180° elbows. The implementation standards include GB/T12459-2005, GB/T13401-2005, GB/T10752-1995, HG/T21635-1987, D-GD0219, etc. Material classification: carbon steel material can be divided into 10# 20# A3 Q235A 20g Q345B 20G 16Mn ASTM A234 ASTM A105 st37 ASTM A403 and so on. Connection methods with carbon steel pipes: welding, flange connection, threaded connection, socket connection and other forms. According to the process form, it can be divided into: welding elbow, stamping elbow, casting elbow, etc. Usage: Connect two pipes to change direction, turn in 45° or 180° and 90° directions or other angles. Manufacturing standards: national standard, American standard, Japanese standard, German standard, Russian standard. The basic process of carbon steel elbow is: first, welding a polygonal ring shell with a cross-section or a multi-edged fan-shaped shell with closed ends, and after filling the pressure medium inside, the internal pressure is applied, and the cross-section gradually changes from polygonal to round under internal pressure, and finally becomes a circular ring shell. Depending on the needs, a round ring shell can be cut into 4 90° elbows or 6 60° elbows or other specifications of elbows, this process is suitable for manufacturing large elbows of any specification with a ratio of elbow middle diameter to elbow inner diameter greater than 1.5 times, which is an ideal method for manufacturing large carbon steel elbows. The advantages of the carbon steel elbow manufacturing process are mainly manifested in the following aspects: (1) No pipe blank is required as raw material, which can save the cost of pipe making equipment and mold, and can obtain carbon steel elbows with any large diameter and relatively thin wall thickness. (2) The billet is flat or spreadable surface, so the blanking is simple, the accuracy is easy to guarantee, and the assembly and welding are convenient. (3) Due to the above two reasons, the manufacturing cycle can be shortened and the production cost is greatly reduced. Since it does not require any special equipment, it is especially suitable for processing large carbon steel elbows on site. (4) Carbon steel elbow is suitable for pipeline series in oil, gas, chemical, hydropower, construction and boiler industries.
