I. Product Overview
Rockwell Automation 1769-OF8C is an analog output module in the CompactLogix series, mainly used to convert digital control signals generated by the controller into continuous analog signals, realizing precise regulation of various actuators in industrial sites. As a "bridge" between the control system and analog actuators, it can receive digital instructions from the CompactLogix controller, and through the internal digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) circuit, output standard analog signals (such as current or voltage signals) to drive control valves, frequency converters, servo drives and other equipment, thus achieving precise control of process parameters such as flow, pressure, temperature, and speed. The module adopts a modular design, highly compatible with 1769 series racks and controllers, with convenient installation and configuration. It is widely used in process control, precision manufacturing, automated production lines, environmental monitoring and other fields, providing key support for high-precision regulation of industrial systems.

II. Performance Parameters
Power Parameters: It adopts a backplane power supply mode, obtaining working power (usually 5V DC) from the CompactLogix rack, without the need for additional independent working power supplies, which simplifies system wiring. At the same time, the output circuit requires an external 24V DC power supply (some models are compatible with 10-30V DC) to provide driving power for the analog output circuit, ensuring the stability of the output signal.
Output Parameters:
Number of Output Channels: It contains 2 independent analog output channels, which can control 2 analog actuators at the same time, meeting the needs of multi-parameter regulation in small and medium-sized industrial control scenarios and reducing the space occupied by the module.
Output Types: It supports multiple standard analog output signal types, commonly including 4-20mA DC current signals and 0-10V DC voltage signals. Some models can also support 0-5V, 1-5V and other voltage signals through software configuration, adapting to different types of actuators.
Output Accuracy: It has high output accuracy, usually ±0.1% of full scale (at 25℃ ambient temperature), ensuring the accuracy of control signals and providing a guarantee for the precise action of actuators.
Resolution: The digital-to-analog conversion resolution is generally 16 bits, which can realize fine adjustment of the output signal, meeting the needs of high-precision control scenarios (such as precision liquid level control, speed closed-loop regulation).
Output Load Capacity: In current output mode, the maximum load resistance is usually 500Ω; in voltage output mode, the minimum load impedance is generally 10kΩ. It can directly drive conventional analog actuators without additional signal amplification circuits.
Response Time: The response time from receiving the controller's instruction to outputting a stable analog signal is short, usually within 10ms, which can quickly respond to changes in control needs and ensure the timeliness of the regulation process.
Linearity and Drift: The linear error is low, usually ≤±0.05% of full scale, ensuring the linear relationship between the output signal and the control instruction; the temperature drift is small, with zero drift generally ≤±0.005% of full scale/℃ and gain drift ≤±0.005% of full scale/℃, so that the output accuracy can remain stable when the ambient temperature changes.
Environmental Parameters:
Operating Temperature: It can work stably in the temperature range of 0℃-60℃, adapting to temperature fluctuations in conventional environments such as industrial production workshops and control cabinets, with no obvious impact on performance.
Relative Humidity: It can operate normally in a relative humidity environment of 5%-95% (non-condensing), coping with scenarios such as humid process control workshops and outdoor equipment rooms, effectively preventing circuit performance degradation caused by humidity.
Anti-Electromagnetic Interference: It complies with industrial electromagnetic compatibility standards (such as IEC 61000-6-2), has strong anti-electromagnetic interference ability, and can resist electromagnetic interference generated by motors, frequency converters, high-voltage equipment, etc. in industrial sites, ensuring the purity and stability of the output signal.
Vibration and Shock Resistance: The vibration resistance range is 10-500Hz, with an amplitude of 0.38mm or an acceleration of 10g; the shock resistance range can reach 15g (11ms). It can withstand vibration and shock generated during the operation or transportation of industrial equipment, ensuring the stability of the module's structure and circuit performance.

III. Functional Features
Independent Channel Configuration: The 2 output channels can be independently configured for signal types (e.g., channel 1 is set to 4-20mA, channel 2 is set to 0-10V), and the range of each channel can be individually set through programming software, adapting to the signal requirements of different actuators and improving the flexibility and versatility of the module.
Diagnosis and Status Indication: The module is equipped with LED indicators, including power indicators, channel fault indicators, etc., which can display the working status of the module in real time (such as normal power supply, channel overload, signal abnormality, etc.). At the same time, it supports reading channel diagnosis information (such as disconnection detection, output overrun) through the controller, facilitating quick location of faults (such as actuator disconnection, abnormal load) and improving the maintainability of the system.
Overcurrent and Short-Circuit Protection: Each output channel has overcurrent protection and short-circuit protection functions. When a short-circuit or overcurrent fault occurs in the output circuit, the module will automatically limit the output current (usually ≤30mA) to avoid damage to the internal circuit of the module or the actuator. After the fault is eliminated, the output function can automatically recover without manual reset, reducing system downtime.
Seamless Integration with the System: As part of the CompactLogix series, 1769-OF8C can realize high-speed data communication with the controller through the rack backplane, with low transmission delay of output instructions (usually ≤1ms), ensuring the real-time performance of control. It supports parameter configuration, signal calibration and fault diagnosis through RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 programming software, perfectly integrating with the control system and featuring convenient operation.
Signal Isolation: Some models have electrical isolation function between channels (isolation voltage is usually 250V AC), which can effectively avoid signal interference between different channels, especially suitable for situations where the grounding of actuators is inconsistent in multi-parameter regulation scenarios, improving the anti-interference ability of the system.
