Allen-Bradley 1747-BSN is a DeviceNet communication module designed for the SLC 500 series PLC systems. IV. Working Principle


Data reception and processing: The 1747-BSN module receives data frames sent from other devices on the network through the DeviceNet network interface. These data frames contain device status information, measurement data, etc. The communication controller inside the module parses and verifies the received data frames, extracts valid data information, converts it into a format recognizable by the SLC 500 PLC, and transmits it to the CPU module of the PLC through the backplane bus.


Data transmission and conversion: When the SLC 500 PLC needs to send control commands or parameters to devices on the DeviceNet network, the CPU module transmits relevant data to the 1747-BSN module through the backplane bus. After receiving the data, the module packages and encodes the data according to the requirements of the DeviceNet protocol to form a standardized data frame, which is then sent to the target device through the DeviceNet network interface.


Network management and maintenance: The module has a built-in network management function, which can participate in the initialization of the DeviceNet network, device enumeration, baud rate negotiation and other processes. During network operation, the module monitors the network communication quality in real time. If abnormal situations such as communication errors and device offline are detected, it will promptly trigger corresponding fault indicators and feed back the fault information to the PLC, so that the system can take corresponding processing measures (such as alarm, shutdown, etc.). At the same time, the module also supports remote configuration and diagnosis.
