I. Overview


WOODWARD 5453-279 is a compact controller designed for small gas engines and biogas engines. It is widely used in the control of small power equipment in small distributed energy systems, small generator sets, as well as in agricultural, municipal and other fields.


Its core design is to provide an economical and reliable control solution for small clean energy engines. By reasonably regulating key parameters such as fuel supply and ignition timing, it ensures that the engine operates stably under light and medium load conditions, while taking into account energy conservation and emission reduction. Whether it is a small household generator or a small industrial power equipment, this controller can provide support for the stable operation of the equipment with its small size and practical functions, and is a practical choice in the field of small clean energy power control.

II. Technical Parameters

  • Power Supply Parameters: Supports 12V DC or 24V DC power supply, with corresponding operating voltage ranges of 9-16V DC and 18-32V DC respectively, which can flexibly adapt to different power supply environments. The rated power consumption of the power supply is about 6W, which has low energy consumption, can reduce energy waste, and at the same time generates little heat itself, which is conducive to extending the service life of the equipment.

  • Control Input and Output: Has 2 analog input channels, which can receive 4-20mA or 0-5V signals for collecting key sensor data such as engine speed and temperature; is equipped with 1 analog output channel with an output range of 4-20mA for controlling actuators such as fuel valves. There are 4 digital input channels and 3 digital output channels, which can meet the switching value control needs of small equipment and realize basic logic control functions.


  • Control Accuracy: The speed control accuracy is ±0.5% of the rated speed, which can meet the basic speed stability requirements of small engines; the load control accuracy is ±3%, which can adapt to the load changes of small equipment and ensure the basic operation stability of the equipment.

  • Environmental Adaptability: The operating temperature range is -25℃ to 60℃, allowing it to work normally in common temperature environments; the relative humidity is 10%-90% (non-condensing), which can adapt to a certain humid environment. The anti-vibration performance can withstand vibrations with a frequency of 10-500Hz and an acceleration of 3g, and the anti-impact performance reaches 15g, which can cope with the vibration and impact generated during the operation of small equipment.
