IC697BEM731Z is a Genius bus controller module in GE Fanuc Series 90-70 programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The detailed information is as follows:

Functional Features: It is mainly used to connect up to 30 devices and transmit data by passing tokens between all configured devices on the same bus. It has 1 channel for interfacing with devices on the same bus, and 1 Hand-Held Monitor (HHM) port, which can use MS DOS or Windows programming software configurator functions to download configurations to the module.

Communication Configuration: The bus address is undefined at delivery. The configuration software sets the default address to 153.6 kbps standard, with the bus address being 31. The default address can be modified by downloading a valid configuration to the CPU. When configured for 153.6 kbps (standard), the maximum allowable distance of the communication bus is 2000 feet; when configured for 153.6 kbps (extended), it is 3500 feet; when configured for 76.8 kbps, it is 4500 feet; and when configured for 38.4 kbps, it is 7500 feet. All devices on the same bus or network must be configured with the same baud rate; otherwise, communication will be affected.
