Functional FeaturesProvision of I/O Scanning Services

It provides I/O scanning services for remote I/O devices, which can be located on remote I/O networks or device networks containing both remote I/O and distributed I/O devices. The module manages the remote I/O network through a daisy-chain loop topology, connecting to the main loop of the remote I/O network to ensure accurate data collection and transmission.

Support for Ethernet Services

It can execute diagnostic functions to monitor the module's own status and related network connections in real-time, facilitating users to identify and resolve issues promptly. Additionally, it enables configuration of remote I/O devices, allowing IP parameter configuration for up to 31 remote I/O modules and configuration of I/O units on sub-stations.

Rapid Communication Interruption Recovery

Leveraging RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol), it can restore modules experiencing communication interruptions on the main loop within 50 milliseconds, significantly enhancing system reliability and stability while reducing downtime caused by communication failures.

Support for Hot Standby Function

It facilitates the implementation of hot standby functionality. When the main module fails, the standby module can quickly take over operations, ensuring continuous system operation and further improving system availability.

Multiple Ports Availability

The module is equipped with a Service Port (ETH1), an Interconnect Port (ETH2), and Device Network Ports (ETH3 and ETH4).


  • The Service Port (ETH1) diagnoses Ethernet ports and provides access to external tools and devices (such as Control Expert, Connexium Network Manager, HMI, etc.), supporting modes like access ports and port mirroring.

  • The Interconnect Port (ETH2) connects with other EIO modules to provide remote I/O communication and offers cable redundancy through a daisy-chain loop structure.


Enablement of Distributed I/O Participation

It provides communication paths to allow distributed I/O and control network traffic to participate in the remote I/O network via interconnection, enabling the system to flexibly build distributed control architectures and adapt to complex industrial automation scenarios.
