Wireless Charger Exported to Japan Need to Apply for PSE Certification + METI Filing
Wireless charging technology (English: Wireless charging technology) originates from wireless energy transmission technology, the principle is that the charger and the power device with a magnetic field between the energy transfer. It can be divided into two types: low power wireless charging and high power wireless charging. Low-power wireless charging often uses electromagnetic induction; high-power wireless charging often uses resonance, and the power supply device transmits energy to the power-using device.
Why PSE certification?
PSE is Japan's mandatory safety, to prove that the motor electronic products have been through the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Law, from April 1, 2001 onwards, in Japan for many years of the Electrical Appliances and Materials Prohibition Law, replaced by the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Law, in Japan, the majority of domestic or commercial electrical products sold in the territory of Japan, as well as some of the important spare parts and accessories, are subject to the control of the new law. Wireless chargers exported to Japan need to apply for PSE certification.
PSE certification is divided into:
Round: mainly lamps, household appliances, office equipment, etc., need to do self-proclaimed compliance or apply for third-party certification, qualified test can be issued.
Diamond: mainly power adapters, power cords, fuses, switches, transformers, ballasts, etc. must have diamond PSE logo. Not only to test, but also to review the factory, relative to the round to be more rigorous and cumbersome.
METI filing:
When the product for PSE certification, if it is on Amazon Japan or other e-commerce platforms, you need to provide METI filing registration.
METI record can be understood as the Japanese importer affirmation, including manufacturer information, product information and the date of signature. Issued by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and approval of the certificate, the importer needs to take a copy of the PSE information to METI to do the record in order to be processed. Purchasers must declare to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan within one month after the purchase of goods, with the Japanese government registered Japanese trading company, in order to apply for registration to the METI.
