1. High-reliability relay output design
32-channel independent dry contact output
Each output channel adopts a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) relay with a contact capacity of 5A/250VAC or 5A/30VDC, which can directly drive industrial loads such as solenoid valves and contactors without the need for additional amplification circuits.
Isolation feature: Electrical isolation between channels (>1500VDC) to prevent the spread of single-point faults, suitable for multi-channel independent control scenarios.
Redundancy and self-diagnostic mechanism
The module adopts a "1oo2D" (one to two with diagnosis) architecture internally. It outputs through two relays in parallel and monitors the contact status in real time to ensure reliable operation even when any relay fails.
Diagnostic coverage rate: up to 99%, capable of detecting faults such as relay adhesion, coil open circuit/short circuit, etc. When a fault occurs, it triggers an alarm and maintains a safe state.
Ii. Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Certification
SIL3 Certification: Complies with IEC 61508 and IEC 62061 standards, and is suitable for industrial scenarios with the highest safety requirements (such as emergency shutdown ESD, fire and gas system F&G).
Low failure rate: The mean time to Failure at risk (MTTFd) is over 100 years, meeting the strict requirements of safety life cycle management.
Iii. Flexible output configuration and control
Support for multiple output modes
Normal excitation (NE) mode: The relay is powered by default and loses power in case of failure (Fail-Safe design).
Normal demagnetization (ND) mode: By default, the relay is de-energized and remains in its current state when a fault occurs. It is suitable for applications that require "fault holding".
Status feedback and monitoring
Each output channel is equipped with a status indicator light (LED) to display the on-off status of the relay in real time.
Through the communication interface of the module (such as Modbus), the relay status and diagnostic information can be remotely read, and predictive maintenance is supported.
Iv. Anti-interference and Environmental Adaptability
Electrical protection design
EMC compatibility: Complies with the EN 61000-6-2 industrial environment standard, resistant to radio frequency interference (10V/m, 80MHz-1GHz) and fast transient pulse groups (2kV).
Surge protection: Built-in MOV (metal oxide varistor), capable of withstanding 6kV surge impact, protecting the relay from power fluctuations.
Wide temperature operating range
Operating temperature: -40℃ to + 75℃, storage temperature: -55℃ to + 85℃, suitable for extreme industrial environments such as deserts and polar regions.
Seismic resistance: Complies with IEC 60068-2-6 standard (vibration 10-2000Hz, 1g). Impact resistance: Complies with IEC 60068-2-27 standard (impact 15g, 11ms).
V. Modularization and System Integration
Hot-swappable design
Supports online Swap (Hot Swap), and there is no need to stop the machine during maintenance, reducing the risk of production interruption.
The mechanical locking mechanism ensures that the module is firmly installed and prevents loosening caused by vibration.
Seamlessly integrated with the TRICON system
It can be directly inserted into the Tricon controller rack and communicate with the main processor through the backplane bus to achieve rapid control response (typical output update time<10ms).
The TrICon-compatible triple Module Redundancy (TMR) architecture works in conjunction with other safety modules (such as 3503E analog input and 3604E digital output) to build a complete SIS system.
Vi. Application Scenario Expansion
Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) : Controls the emergency shutdown of key valves and pumps to ensure process safety.
Fire and gas protection System (F&G) : It drives fire sprinkler valves, sound and light alarms and other equipment to respond to fires or gas leaks.
High Integrity Pressure Protection (HIPPS) : As a redundant control for safety valves, it prevents pipeline overpressure.
Turbine mechanical control: Control the lubricating oil pumps and speed control valves of steam turbines and compressors to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
