Functional characteristics:
Basic signal processing functions: It can receive binary digital signals from the control system, usually 0 or 1, representing different control states, and convert them into corresponding control actions to achieve on-off control of external devices. It can be used to control motors, valves, mechanical arms, pistons and other equipment, and is suitable for discrete control scenarios. That is, the equipment can only be controlled in two states: on/off and start/stop.
High-reliability design: It adopts a three-mode redundancy (TMR) architecture. The module contains three identical and isolated sub-circuits, each of which contains an IOP microprocessor. Except for the dual-channel DC module, a "four-way output voting device" is adopted. Through a three-to-two output voting method, each output signal is voted on before being sent to the load to ensure the accuracy and safety of the output signals. Even if some circuits fail, the module can still operate normally.
Fault diagnosis function: It has comprehensive online diagnosis capabilities. The microprocessor of the output module can check the validity of the output status through the feedback loop voltage at the output end, and can diagnose on-site line problems. It can also perform dedicated output predictor diagnosis (OVD) for each point to promptly identify potential faults. When a fault is detected, a corresponding response can be made according to the Settings, such as forcing the output to a safe state. Meanwhile, there is usually a signal indicating the fault situation on the module.
Hot-swappable function: It supports hot-swappable, allowing for the installation or replacement of modules during system operation without affecting the normal operation of on-site circuits and other modules. This facilitates maintenance and inspection, effectively reducing downtime and enhancing system availability.
Multiple voltage support: Typically supports 120VAC/VDC voltage, capable of adapting to a certain range of voltage fluctuations, generally between -15% and + 10% of the standard voltage, which can meet the power supply requirements of various industrial field equipment.
Electrical isolation feature: It has input-to-output isolation function, with isolation voltage up to 1000VAC or 1500VDC, which can effectively prevent electrical interference and fault spread, ensure the stable operation of the module, and at the same time protect the control system and external devices from electrical hazards.
