Functional characteristics:

Multi-channel monitoring: Through two TAMB boards, 18 signal conditioning channels and 18 acoustic monitoring channels are provided, enabling simultaneous monitoring of multiple measurement points and comprehensive acquisition of acoustic information during the operation of gas turbines.

Dc bias and fault detection: It features high-impedance DC bias and can detect open connections between TAMB boards and charge amplifiers. Dc bias control supports options such as RETX, SIG X, and return lines. 28V bias or ground can also be applied to signal lines.

Signal output: Each channel outputs a buffered BNC signal, that is, the input signal minus the DC bias, which helps to improve the stability and anti-interference ability of the signal and facilitates subsequent signal processing and analysis.

Diagnostic function: It has both offline and online diagnostic functions, allowing for the inspection of hardware status. There are three LED indicator lights on the top of the front panel. A green flashing light indicates the operating status, a red constantly lit light indicates a fault, and an orange constantly lit light indicates a diagnostic alarm. Furthermore, each input has two customizable system limit check levels, which can be set to enable/disable, greater than or equal to, or equal to, latch/non-latch, and other modes.

A/D compensation and gain adjustment: The firmware has an automatic calibration function, which can eliminate any gain or offset errors caused by changes in initial components. The channel gain in the hardware can be controlled by configuring parameters. There are four gain options: 1, 2, 4 and 8, which can amplify low-level signals and improve the resolution of analog-to-digital conversion.

Hardware structure

The front panel is equipped with two D-type cable connectors for connecting external signal cables. There are also three LED indicator lights for showing the status of the board card.

Backplane: It has two backplane connectors placed side by side, which are used to connect with other circuit boards or systems to achieve data transmission and power supply.

Other components: It includes a vertical pin connector and nine 3-pin jumpers (one side connected to the return signal RETX, and the middle pin connected to PCOM). The board also integrates integrated circuits such as Xilinx Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), as well as passive components like resistors, capacitors, and diodes. There are two inductive coils between the backplane connectors.

Power supply: Each channel provides a current-limited + 24V DC power output to supply a constant current source for the PCB sensor, which is connected to the SIGX line. When powered on, the output must be low-level logic (i.e. False), and continuous current output will not be selected until the configuration parameters are loaded.
