I. Function Overview
Core function: Receive digital instructions from the control system (0/1), drive on-site devices through relays or solid-state output, and achieve remote control.
Application scenarios: It is suitable for valve control, motor start and stop, status indication and other scenarios of equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines and compressors.
Safety: Supports triple module redundancy (TMR) configuration, meeting the SIL3 safety level requirements to ensure the reliability of critical control loops.
Ii. Hardware Design
Indicator light design: Each channel is equipped with an LED status indicator light to show the on-off status of the output signal. The front panel is equipped with power, communication and fault indicator lights for quick diagnosis.
Terminal block: It adopts a detachable terminal block that supports hot plugging, eliminating the need to cut off power during maintenance.
TMR redundancy support: In a triple redundancy system, three identical modules work in parallel. The output consistency is ensured through a 2/3 voting mechanism, and the failure of any module does not affect the system operation.

Iv. Working Principle
Instruction reception:
The Mark VIe controller sends digital instructions (0/1) to the module via the IONet network.
Signal Isolation and amplification
The input digital signal is isolated by the optocoupler and then amplified by the drive circuit to trigger the relay or solid-state switch to act.
Output drive
Relay output: By closing/opening mechanical contacts, it drives high-power devices (such as motor contactors, solenoid valves).
Solid-state output: Contactless control is achieved through semiconductor switches (such as MOSFETs), making it suitable for high-frequency switching scenarios.
Status feedback
Each output channel is equipped with a status feedback circuit to feed back the actual output status to the controller, forming a closed-loop control.
Fault Diagnosis:
The module monitors the output current and contact status in real time. When faults such as short circuit and overload are detected, it will alarm through the LED indicator light and network, and supports online replacement of faulty modules.

Gas turbine control
Control the on-off actions of equipment such as fuel valves, vent valves, and emergency stop solenoid valves.
Under the TMR configuration, ensure the reliability of key control signals (such as shutdown instructions).
Compressor anti-surge control
Drive the rapid opening and closing of the anti-surge valve to protect the safety of the compressor.
Millisecond-level response is achieved in solid-state output mode to meet the requirements of emergency control.
Industrial safety interlock
Control safety shut-off valves, fire sprinkler systems and other equipment to achieve hard-wired protection of safety circuits.

Vi. Configuration and Maintenance
Software configuration:
Configure parameters such as the output channel type (relay/solid-state), output voltage, and load type through the GE Proficy ControlST software.
Hot plugging support:
Supports module replacement while powered on. After replacement, communication and configuration will be automatically restored without the need to restart the system.
Spare parts Management
It is recommended to stock up on vulnerable parts (such as relay contacts and fuses) to shorten the time for fault repair.
