Introduction
Super alloys are also referred to as high performance alloys. They have good creep and oxidation resistance. Cobalt-based, nickel-based, and iron-based alloys are three types of super alloys. They have the capacity to function where high surface stability is required, and also at very high temperatures and severe mechanical stress. They are available in different shapes.
Monel R-405 is a free-machining version of Monel 400. It is added with sulfur to improve its machinability. The datasheet given below provides more details about Monel R-405.

The chemical composition of Monel R-405 is outlined in the following table.

Hot WorkingMonel R-405 should not be hot worked.
Cold WorkingMonel R-405 can be easily cold worked.
AnnealingMonel R-405 is annealed at 927°C (1700°F) followed by air cooling.
HardeningMonel R-405 can be hardened only by cold working.
ApplicationsMonel R-405 is used in screw machine stock for fasteners.
