Introduction
The Incoloy A-286 nickel alloy is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, titanium, aluminum, vanadium, and a trace amount of boron that stiffen the alloy matrix, thus providing high mechanical strength. At a temperature under 650ºC, the alloy A-286 boasts extremely high yield strength and creep-rupture strength as well as great fabrication characteristics and weldability.
Excellent fabrication characteristics
High mechanical properties due to age-hardenability
High ductility in notched sections
Good creep-rupture strength during extended high-temperature exposure
Can be produced by AOD reefing or vacuum induction melting
Good for moderate corrosion applications in aqueous solutions
