On November 6, 2020, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico issued an announcement in the official gazette, making an affirmative final anti-dumping determination on aluminum wafers (Spanish: discos de aluminum) originating in China, and decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of US $1.17/kg on the products involved. The announcement shall come into force on the day after its promulgation. The tigie tax number of the product involved was 7616.99.10.
On August 9, 2019, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico announced in the official gazette that, in response to the application of the Mexican enterprise almexa aluminum, S.A. de C.V., it decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum wafers originating in China. The dumping investigation period is from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, and the injury analysis period is from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018. On March 27, 2020, Mexico made a preliminary anti-dumping determination on the products involved in the case originating in China, decided to continue the anti-dumping investigation, and imposed a temporary anti-dumping duty of 37.88% on the products involved.
