potato starch making process in Doing Company adopts the wet processing technology of starch production without any additives. The whole process features with matured technology, advanced equipment, scientific configuration and reasonable technology. The process flow of potato starch processing line is designed according to seven stages: receiving, cleaning and washing, grinding, separating, concentration and refining, dehydrating, drying and packing.
1. Raw material receiving process
The raw material receiving unit is the first step of potato starch making process. The main purpose of this unit is to store potatoes in the raw material storage pool.In the process of unloading potatoes, it is best to ensure the integrity of potatoes. Broken potatoes are easy to rot, and rotten potatoes will infect other potatoes. The quality of potato has a great influence on starch quality. Potatoes should not be stored for more than half a month. The longer the potato is stored, the more detrimental it is to starch production.
2. Potato cleaning and washing process
After being weighted and sorted in potato starch making process, the fresh potato will be firstly transported into the cleaning machine to clean the sand, small stones, dirt and other impurities. Then the cleaned potato will be transported into the washing machine. To achieve a better cleaning effect, it will be better to use the rotary washing machine, so that the impurities such as sand, stone, iron items will be thoroughly cleaned.
3. Potato grating process
Rasper is used for grating potato to break the cell wall of potato and release starch from potato cell. This is an important procedure in potato starch making process. DOING rasper is a machine widely absorbs advanced international technology. Compared with other products, it is composed of hundreds of saw blades, and featured with high speed, fine grinding, high free rate of starch, high production capacity and high rate of starch extraction.
4.Separating process
The separating process in potato starch making process is mainly for the separation of fiber and the potato starch. The centrifuge sieve and fine fiber sieve are used in this process. The centrifuge sieve utilizes the high speed centrifugal force to separate fiber and starch. While the fine fiber sieve take use of low speed centrifuge to achieve the fiber-starch separation. Normally in order to achieve better separation effect, potato starch processing line adopts multi-stage centrifuge process.
5. Desanding process
After separating, there still exists sand in the potato starch in potato starch making process. If the sediment concentration of the slurry is high, it will not only influence the taste of the starch but also affected the sales and price of starch. So the desanding process is a necessary. The desander can remove sediment in the starch, improve the make the product quality to a higher class.
6. Concentration and refining process
Hydrocyclone station is widely used for potato starch making process. The hydrocyclone station is composed of multistage cyclone in a certain way. According to the processing function of each stage cyclone in the cyclone station, different number of cyclone pipes and a feed pump need to be installed. The whole unit is independent in the process, compact in structure and convenient in installation.
7. Dehydrating process
The water content of starch milk coming out of hydrocyclone station is too large to dry directly. Therefore, it is necessary to dehydrate starch milk first in potato starch making process. Vacuum filter is the mainly used dewatering machine which utilize the negative press to dehydrate the potato starch. The DOING dewatering machine can reduce the moisture content of wet starch lower than 38% after dehydration.
8.Drying and packing process
After dewatering of potato starch making process, the starch cake is dried in the flash dryer. The wet starch is heated by the hot wind and the water evaporates. After drying, starch is separated from air in a set of cyclone separators. Then the wet air leaves the cyclone separator and is discharged into the atmosphere by the ventilator. While the collected starch is transported by the screw conveyor to the packing unit. And the finished potato starch will be packed for storage.
