Potato starch is one of the main products of potato processing. Nowadays, the extraction of starch from potato is normally completed in potato starch manufacturing process. The production line of potato starch can automatically complete the whole process of cleaning, washing, crushing, rasping, separation, concentration and refinement, dehydration, drying and packaging of potato.
1. potato cleaning and washing process
The machine used for potato cleaning and washing process includes the dry sieve and rotary washing machine in potato starch manufacturing process. These machines carry out multi-stage cleaning of raw materials (potatoes), fully remove the skin sediment and improve the purity of raw materials. These machine features with continuous work without burden, multiple cleaning processes have high cleanliness and low energy consumption.
2. Crushing process
This is the most important step in potato starch manufacturing process. The rasper is used to crush the potato into slurry so as to release the free starch in the potato cell. The extraction rate of starch is determined by this machine. DOING rasper is an advanced crushing machine which fully absorbs technology from home and abroad, and the breakage rate can reach at around 95%.
3. Separation process
This section in potato starch manufacturing process is mainly used for separating fiber. The mainly used machine includes centrifuge sieve and fine fiber sieve. The centrifuge sieve is mainly used for removing fiber and fine fiber sieve is for further removing fine fiber. This is also an important procedure of extraction of starch from potato.
4. Concentration and refining process
After the separation section, the potato slurry need to be further refined in potato starch manufacturing process. This process mainly removes the protein, fine fiber and cell sap. In this process, the mainly used machine for the extraction of starch from potato is hydrocyclone st
ation. A full hydrocyclone technology includes the concentration, refining and recycling.
5.Dewatering process
Even after the concentration, the water content in the starch milk in still high in potato starch manufacturing process. The vacuum filter is used for the dehydration of the starch milk. The vacuum filter is a continuous running potato starch processing machine which using the moving filter cloth as the filter medium and using the negative pressure and gravity provided to separate the solid from liquid. After the dewatering process, the water content of the starch should below 40%.
6. Drying and packing process
The final process in potato starch production plant is the drying and packing in potato starch manufacturing process. The dehydrated starch cake is transported to the feed inlet of the flash dryer through the conveyor belt and enters the hoist through the feeder. The wet starch is heated by the high speed hot air and the water is evaporated. Finally, the dried starch is then transported to semi-automatic packaging machine and packaged into finished products.
