*MSFP-2B Intelligent Protector for Crown Block

1. General Description     

MSFP-2B intelligent protector for crown block is an intelligent control unit newly made by mind science and Technology co. for truck-mounted workover rigs. The condition of main drum is tested by the unit for real-time monitoring the operation altitude of crown block. When a traveling-block is beyond a given height, the unit gives an acousto-optic warning and a brake is actuated. The system stops running. When the fault is removed and the brake is released, the traveling block is restarted. The unit is used for effectively protecting the equipment for a safe production.

A rotating encoder is installed on the main shaft of the main drum, the rotor is operated synchronously with the shaft of main drum, when the main drum runs, the encoder is used to convert the rotation of the main drum into a digital pulse for the master machine to process it, thus the parameter of crow block operation altitude is calculated. After the signals from transducer is received by the master machine, data are converted and analyzed, the parameter of its operating altitude is obtained and it is contrasted with preset one, by which warning, warning light and brake signals are given.

During the detection of the master machine, when the traveling block is in the position of set alarming for upper and lower limits of altitude, an acousto-optic warning is given by the main machine (alarming for 1 sec. The indicator is normally lighted) for calling the operator to be attention for reduction and braking. When the traveling block continuously moves to the limit position, if the operator does not brake it, the main would automatically give a braking signal and actuate the brake system for preventing the collision accident.
