Drainage sand is bulk material used at the bottom of the ladle for drainage, which is required sintered at low temperatures to prevent floating up with molten steel and in the high temperature and keep long time thin sintering for easily and automatically pouring molten steel. The main raw material can be siliceous, MgO-C, Al2O3-ZrO2-C, Cr2O3-C, forsterite, SiO2-SiC-C, MgO-CaO and magnesia.
There are different ladle sizes with different steel and operating conditions, thus there are different sands of different particle size distribution. Jinshi drainage sand can be with burning rate of open-casting of up to 95% -100%.
In the preparation of drainage sand, sintering modifier is generally added, in order to achieve low-temperature surface sintering and suitable sintering layer in high temperature.
