1. Product Description
This thickener is critical pre‑treatment equipment installed before cyanide leaching inside gold CIL leaching plant. It is used for solid‑liquid concentration of ground ore slurry coming from grinding and classification circuit. By removing excess free water, the thickener adjusts slurry density to meet optimal feeding concentration requirement for subsequent CIL leaching‑adsorption process. Proper concentrated slurry improves reaction efficiency of cyanide reagent and activated carbon, reduces effective tank volume waste and cuts cyanide consumption. The unit consists of thickener tank, central drive, rake arms, overflow launder, underflow discharge system and flocculant dosing device. It can be matched with different throughput gold CIL plants as indispensable pre‑leaching slurry conditioning equipment.
2. Working Principle
Dilute ground ore slurry flows into the central feeding well of thickener. Under flocculant effect, fine mineral particles aggregate into larger flocs and settle down to tank bottom. Clear overflow water rises to upper layer and flows out through overflow launder for recycling. Rake arms driven by central drive slowly rotate and push settled solid sediments toward central underflow outlet. High‑density concentrated underflow slurry is discharged and pumped into CIL leaching tanks for cyanide leaching process. The whole gravity sedimentation process stabilizes slurry solid content, avoids excessively dilute slurry entering leaching circuit and guarantees stable leaching‑adsorption reaction conditions.
