1. What is the difference between pultruded and molded grating?
Pultruded grating is made by pulling continuous fiberglass rovings through a resin bath and a heated die, resulting in a high-strength, unidirectional structure. Molded grating is formed by laying fiberglass mats and resin in a mold (compression or injection). Pultruded gratings offer higher strength-to-weight ratio and are often used for load-bearing applications like pedestrian decking, while molded gratings are more cost-effective for light-duty use.
2. Can this pedestrian decking be used in wet or chemical environments?
Yes. Our polyester resin system provides excellent resistance to water, saltwater, and many chemicals. For highly corrosive environments, we recommend our vinyl ester resin option (available upon request).
3. What load capacity can I expect?
Standard configurations support up to 500 kg/m² uniform load. However, load capacity depends on panel thickness, mesh size, and support spacing. We can design gratings to meet specific load requirements (e.g., for light vehicle traffic or heavy pedestrian traffic).
4. How do I install these gratings?
Installation is similar to steel gratings. Panels can be cut with a saw, drilled for bolts, and secured using clips, hold-downs, or a frame. Lightweight nature makes handling easy. We provide installation guidelines upon request.
5. Are custom sizes and colors available?
Absolutely. We offer custom panel dimensions, thicknesses, mesh sizes, and colors (including safety yellow, gray, green, and more). Minimum order quantity may apply for custom specifications.
6. Is the grating UV-resistant? Will it fade or degrade in sunlight?
Our standard resin includes UV stabilizers, ensuring long-term outdoor performance. However, over many years, slight color change may occur but does not affect structural integrity. For critical UV exposure, we can add additional UV protection.
7. What is the typical lead time and shipping method?
Lead time is 10–20 working days for standard sizes, and 20–30 days for custom orders. We ship via FOB Tianjin or Qingdao, using sea freight, air freight, or express courier depending on your urgency and budget.
