1. Product Overview
Hot rolled coil is a basic core profile in the steel industry and one of the most widely used raw materials for industrial processing and infrastructure projects. In the industry, hot rolled coil, hot rolled steel coil and hot rolled plate coil are collectively referred to as hot rolled plate materials, serving as the core base material for downstream deep processing.
Manufactured from continuous casting slabs, hot rolled coil is produced through high-temperature heating, high-pressure descaling, continuous rough and finish rolling, laminar cooling and coiling forming. The high-temperature rolling process endows hot rolled steel coil with excellent plasticity and toughness, suitable for various bending, stamping and welding processes.
Compared with cold-rolled plates, hot rolled plate coil features lower production cost, wider specification coverage and stable structural strength without work hardening. It can be directly used for semi-finished product processing and structural fabrication. Ordinary hot rolled coil can be put into production without complicated pretreatment, delivering extremely high practicality.
Most industrial hot rolled coils on the market are produced by standardized rolling. High-quality hot rolled steel coil has a flat plate surface and uniform thickness without warping and deformation, while premium hot rolled plate coil boasts excellent appearance, making it the preferred raw material for steel structure, mechanical manufacturing and sheet metal processing industries.
2. Production Standards
All hot rolled coils, hot rolled steel coils and hot rolled plate coils produced by our factory strictly comply with national and international general production standards, ensuring stable and compliant dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties and surface quality of each hot rolled coil.

3. Common Materials and Grades
Ordinary Carbon Hot Rolled Coil: The mainstream grade is Q235B. This hot rolled coil features high cost performance, excellent plasticity and good weldability. It is the most widely used hot rolled steel coil for general processing, ordinary steel structures and sheet metal accessories, suitable for most conventional processing scenarios.
Low-Alloy High-Strength Hot Rolled Coil: The mainstream grade is Q355B. Compared with ordinary materials, this hot rolled plate coil has higher strength, better bearing capacity and excellent impact resistance, widely used in heavy-duty steel structures, construction machinery, bridge supports, equipment bases and other heavy-load scenarios.

4. Core Technical Parameters and Specifications
Specification Range: The thickness of conventional hot rolled coils is 1.2mm-20mm, with mainstream widths of 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm, 1800mm and 2000mm. The weight of a single coil ranges from 5 to 28 tons. Slitting, flattening and fixed-length shearing are supported, and hot rolled plate coils of various sizes can be customized and processed.
Dimensional Accuracy: The thickness and width tolerances of hot rolled coils are strictly controlled. The plate surface is flat without waves and edge warping. The hot rolled steel coils in the same batch have uniform thickness and regular plate shape, and the flattened plates have high flatness without secondary leveling.
Surface Quality: Conventional hot rolled coils have original black surfaces without peeling, bubbles, cracks and large-area rust spots. Pickled hot rolled coils are available with clean and smooth surfaces, which greatly improve the effect of subsequent spraying, welding and stamping.
Mechanical Properties: Finished hot rolled plate coils have stable tensile strength, yield strength and elongation, with good toughness, easy bending, stamping and welding performance, and no cracking or deformation during cold processing, adapting to various cold and hot processing technologies.
Processing Performance: Hot rolled steel coils have no residual internal stress, and can be easily processed by bending, punching, cutting, rolling, welding, polishing and other deep processing methods, suitable for various automatic production lines.
5. Standard Production Process
Strict inspection of high-quality slab raw materials to screen qualified raw materials, guarantee the basic quality of hot rolled coils, hot rolled steel coils and hot rolled plate coils from the source, and eliminate defective products from production.
The slabs are heated by stepping high-temperature heating furnace with uniform temperature rise to ensure rolling stability, followed by high-pressure water powerful descaling to remove surface oxide layers and improve the surface finish of hot rolled coils.
Multi-pass continuous rough and finish rolling accurately controls the thickness, width and plate shape of hot rolled plate coils, ensuring uniform size and compliant tolerance of each hot rolled steel coil.
Precise computer laminar flow cooling stabilizes the metallographic structure of steel, locks the mechanical properties of hot rolled coils, and avoids deformation and cracking in subsequent processing.
After coiling forming, plate shape correction and end trimming to complete the basic forming of hot rolled coils, surface inspection, dimensional re-inspection and performance sampling inspection are carried out.
Qualified hot rolled coils, hot rolled steel coils and hot rolled plate coils are bundled, labeled and put into storage with full-process standardized quality inspection to ensure all delivered products meet quality standards.
