Hot Rolled Coil, also known as hot rolled coil plate or hot coil, is a basic industrial steel product processed by high-temperature hot rolling technology. The steel billet is heated above 1200℃, continuously rolled and formed through rough rolling and finish rolling, and finally coiled into strip-shaped coils. It is one of the most widely used and highly versatile core steel materials in the industrial field. 3. Common Material Grades

  • Ordinary Carbon Steel: Q235B, SS400. As the mainstream material for Carbon Hot Rolled Coil, it balances toughness and plasticity with extremely high cost performance, suitable for most ordinary processing, steel structure and sheet metal working conditions.

  • Low Alloy High Strength Steel: Q345B, Q355B. Classic materials for High Strength Hot Rolled Coil with higher strength, excellent impact resistance and fatigue resistance, widely used in construction machinery, load-bearing structures and equipment bases under heavy-load scenarios.

  • Special Engineering Steel: Q215, SPHC. Featuring soft texture and superior stamping performance, Hot Rolled Coil made of these materials is mostly used for hardware accessories, stamping parts, thin-wall processing and pipe production.

5. Production Process

High-quality steel billet feeding → High-temperature furnace heating (above 1200℃) → Repeated rolling and shaping by rough rolling → Precision finish rolling → Laminar cooling and temperature control → High-speed coiling and forming → Straightening and leveling → Surface quality inspection → Dimensional re-inspection → Marking and packaging → Finished product warehousing. 7. Main Applications

  • Steel Structure Engineering: Factory steel frames, load-bearing supports, steel structure frames and embedded parts. A large number of flattened plates processed from Hot Rolled Coil are adopted for stable performance and reasonable cost.

  • Machinery Manufacturing Industry: Mechanical equipment shells, bases, brackets, guard plates and stamping parts. Carbon Hot Rolled Coil is selected for conventional working conditions, while High Strength Hot Rolled Coil is preferred for heavy-duty equipment.

  • Fixed-size Flattening / Slitting Orders: The processing cycle for Hot Rolled Coil requiring flattening, longitudinal shearing and slitting is 5–7 working days.

  • Special Specification / Large-batch Orders: Custom orders with non-standard thickness, width and large batch quantity will be delivered within 7–15 working days according to inventory and production schedule.

9. Quality Inspection

11. Storage and Usage Precautions

Hot Rolled Coil, Carbon Hot Rolled Coil and High Strength Hot Rolled Coil shall be stored in dry and ventilated indoor warehouses. Long-term outdoor stacking and rain washing are prohibited to avoid rusting and excessive surface oxidation caused by humid environments. Coils shall be stacked by category and elevated off the ground to prevent extrusion deformation, scratches and coil collapse hazards. Surface oxide scales can be cleaned before processing and use. Overload and over-condition use are forbidden. High-strength steel materials shall be matched with corresponding heavy-load scenarios to extend the service life of steel materials and ensure the quality of processed products and construction safety.
