1. Product Overview
Channel steel is long structural steel with U-shaped grooved cross-section, hot rolled from steel billets. It is divided into two categories: hot rolled standard channel steel and cold formed light channel steel. Composed of web and two inward inclined flanges, it boasts outstanding bending and shear resistance. It can bear loads independently, or be combined with I-beams and H-beams to construct steel structures. It is easy to process via welding, drilling, riveting and cutting.
We stock GB hot rolled channel steel, European UPN/UPE channel steel, American C/MC channel steel and Japanese standard channel steel. Hot-dip galvanizing and painting anti-corrosion treatment are available. Goods are shipped from Tianjin Port, and standard sizes can be delivered within 5–7 working days. Complete mill test certificates, mechanical performance test reports and third-party SGS inspection documents can be provided.

3. Product Classification
3.1 Hot Rolled Standard Channel Steel (Mainstream Product)
Sizes range from #5 to #40 (web height 50mm~400mm) with standard inclined flanges. It features high load capacity and strict dimensional tolerance, suitable for heavy load-bearing structures.
Common models: 5#, 6.3#, 8#, 10#, 12#, 14#, 16#, 18#, 20#, 25#, 30#, 40#
Applications: Factory main beams, crane beams, equipment bases, bridge supports, curtain wall keels, platform brackets
3.2 Cold Formed Light Channel Steel
It is thin-walled and lightweight with low cost, flat cross-section without rolling slope. It is mostly used for light frames, decoration, photovoltaic brackets and storage racks.
Height specification: 20mm~200mm, wall thickness: 1.2~5mm
Applications: Small guardrails, steel purlins, indoor partition frames, light equipment stands
3.3 Equivalent Section Steel of Various National Standards
European UPN/UPE, American C channel steel and Japanese channel steel match the dimensions of overseas engineering drawings, specially supplied for foreign infrastructure and overseas factory projects.
4. Main Material Grades
Carbon steel channel steel: Q235B (SS400, S235JR), used for general indoor steel structures and equipment supports.
Low alloy high strength channel steel: Q355B/Q355C/Q355D (S355JR), featuring high bearing capacity and low-temperature impact resistance, specially for factories, bridges and photovoltaic projects.
High strength low alloy steel: Q420, Q460, applied to heavy construction machinery and large crane beams.
5. Specification Parameters
Section marking rule: Web height h × flange width b × web thickness d, e.g. No.10 channel steel = 100×48×5.3mm.
Length: Standard lengths are 6m/9m/12m, custom fixed lengths from 1m to 12m are available. The total camber shall not exceed 0.3% of the total length.
Dimensional tolerance: The height, flange width, web thickness, torsion and bending degree all meet the requirements of national standards, with weight deviation within ±3%.
Optional surface treatments:
Hot rolled black surface coated with anti-rust oil: Low cost, suitable for dry indoor environments.
Hot-dip galvanizing: Zinc coating 40–600g/㎡, providing long-term anti-corrosion performance for outdoor, coastal and humid environments.
Shot blasting rust removal, painting and epoxy zinc-rich coating can be customized on demand.
6. Core Product Advantages
Excellent mechanical properties of U-shaped section: Strong unilateral bending bearing capacity, ideal for unilateral cantilevers, platforms and crane loads. It maintains high stability when assembled with I-beams.
Good machinability: The material has good ductility, which can be directly cut, punched, bent, welded and bolted for convenient construction.
Complete range of specifications: Hot rolled channel steel from #5 to #40 is in stock. Fast production is available for light cold formed channel steel and special channel steel of various foreign standards.
Complete anti-corrosion solutions: Bare steel, hot-dip galvanized and painted processes are available to adapt to indoor, outdoor, acid-alkali and marine working conditions.
Traceable quality: Each bundle is marked with heat number, material grade, model and weight. Tensile, impact, bending and salt spray tests for galvanized layers are supported.
7. Packing, Shipment & Trade Terms
Export packaging: Bundled with steel strips in fixed tonnage, wrapped with inner VCI anti-rust paper and outer waterproof plastic film. Large sizes are fixed on fumigated wooden pallets with edge protectors to avoid collision damage.
Marking: A metal label is attached to each bundle, indicating material grade, model, length, net weight, heat batch number and applicable standard.
Loading Ports: Tianjin Port, Qingdao Port
Lead time: 5–7 days for stock goods; 7–15 days for customized galvanized and cold formed channel steel.
Payment Term: 30% TT deposit, the balance shall be remitted by TT against the copy of bill of lading. Letter of Credit (LC) is not accepted.
Trade Term: FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW are all negotiable.

9. Pre-Delivery Inspection Items
Dimension and appearance inspection: Check web height, flange width, web thickness, straightness, torsion, surface cracks and scars.
Mechanical performance test: Yield strength, tensile strength, elongation after fracture, normal temperature impact test and cold bending test.
Special test for galvanized channel steel: Zinc coating thickness test and neutral salt spray anti-corrosion test.
Optional tests: Spectrum chemical analysis and third-party SGS certification inspection.
Documents delivered with goods: Mill test certificate, complete factory inspection reports and customs clearance documents.
