1. Product Overview
Hot Rolled Ribbed Steel Bar, commonly known as rebar, complies with national mandatory standard GB 1499.2-2024 Steel for the Reinforcement of Concrete – Part 2: Hot Rolled Ribbed Bars. It is special load-bearing steel exclusively for reinforced concrete structures.
The bar body is cylindrical with two longitudinal ribs and evenly distributed crescent transverse ribs. The concave-convex rib structure greatly improves bonding and anchoring force with concrete to prevent sliding under load. Manufactured via micro-alloy controlled rolling and cooling technology, it integrates high strength, excellent ductility, stable weldability and energy dissipation capacity for seismic resistance. It acts as the core load-bearing skeleton material for residential buildings, bridges, tunnels, water conservancy and municipal infrastructure, and mandatory sampling inspection is required for all key construction projects.
Anchoring & Load-Bearing Principle
After concrete hardening, transverse ribs embed into concrete to form mechanical interlock, transferring external load from concrete to steel bar and avoiding interface peeling and sliding. Seismic-grade rebar features low yield-to-tensile ratio and high elongation, which absorbs deformation energy under seismic load to prevent brittle collapse of buildings and guarantee structural safety in earthquake zones.
