Rotary Kiln for Lime Cement Plant System 500 Tpd
Product Spotlights
This 200 tons per day industrial-grade ceramic calcination rotary kiln is a professional high-temperature sintering equipment specially designed for processing various ceramic raw materials such as kaolin, clay, feldspar, and quartz. It can stably achieve calcination temperatures ranging from 900°C to 13
1. Introduction
The 500 TPD (Tons Per Day) Rotary Kiln for Lime Cement Plant Systems is a highly versatile, heavy-duty dual-purpose thermal processing system engineered for the large-scale production of both high-reactivity quicklime and premium cement clinker. With a robust daily capacity of 500 tons, this flexible system is a core technological asset for integrated building material complexes, metallurgical flux plants, and chemical manufacturing facilities. Its primary function is to subject calcium-rich raw materials—ranging from high-purity limestone ($CaCO_3$) for lime production to blended raw meal for cement production—to precise, high-temperature calcination, driving off carbon dioxide and yielding exceptionally uniform, high-quality final products.
2. Working Principle
The dual-application processing within this rotary kiln system relies on a continuous, counter-current heat flow design integrated with a high-efficiency preheater system to optimize thermal exchange. The process operates through the following sequential stages:
Preheating and Pre-calcination: Raw materials (limestone aggregates or homogenized cement raw meal) are initially introduced into a vertical preheater or cyclone tower. High-temperature exhaust gases from the kiln tail pass upward through the incoming material, preheating it and achieving up to $25\% - 30\%$ initial decarbonization before it enters the kiln.
Material Feeding: The highly energized, preheated material continuously discharges from the preheater into the kiln tail (the elevated, cooler end of the slightly inclined, slowly rotating steel cylinder).
Controlled Calcination & Sintering: As the material rolls downward toward the kiln head, it passes through distinct thermal zones tailored to the product campaign:
For Lime Production: The limestone is calcined at a strictly controlled temperature range of $1050^\circ\text{C}$ to $1200^\circ\text{C}$, completely driving off $CO_2$ to form highly porous, active quicklime ($CaO$).
For Cement Production: The burner intensity is ramped up, subjecting the cement raw meal to temperatures between $1350^\circ\text{C}$ and $1450^\circ\text{C}$, triggering partial melting and solid-state reactions to synthesize nodular cement clinker.
Cooling & Product Discharge: The red-hot calcined lime or cement clinker drops from the kiln head into a high-efficiency vertical or grate cooler. Rapid air-quenching stabilizes the product's mineral structure, while the captured ambient air is recycled back into the system as highly energized secondary combustion air.
3. Advantages
Dual-Product Operational Flexibility: This system offers unparalleled market adaptability. Plant operators can seamlessly switch production campaigns between active lime and cement clinker on the same equipment line based on seasonal market demand, maximizing facility uptime and profitability.
Superior Reactivity and Phase Uniformity: The dynamic, continuous tumbling motion within the rotating kiln shell prevents the material from overheating or under-burning. For lime production, it yields "soft-burned" quicklime with high activity ($>360\text{ ml}$ by water titration); for cement production, it delivers clinker with low free lime fractions and excellent grindability.
Advanced Multi-Fuel Combustion Technology: Equipped with a state-of-the-art, low-$NO_x$ multi-channel burner system, the kiln can efficiently burn pulverized coal, natural gas, heavy fuel oil, or alternative biomass fuels. This multi-fuel capability enables operators to choose the most cost-effective energy source available.
Maximum Energy Integration and Low Fuel Consumption: By combining a high-efficiency vertical preheater at the kiln tail with an integrated cooling air reclamation loop at the kiln head, the system achieves remarkable thermal efficiency. This significantly lowers the specific heat consumption per ton of material processed.
Heavy-Duty Construction and Environmental Integrity: Built for harsh, continuous 24/7 industrial environments, the kiln features a reinforced high-tensile steel shell and custom multi-layer refractory linings. Complete with advanced mechanical fish-scale seals at both ends and a pulse-jet baghouse system, it guarantees a $99.9\%$ particulate recovery rate, ensuring strict compliance with global clean air regulations.
