Hot-Rolled Steel Coil - Product Description
1. Product Overview
Hot-rolled steel coil, also known as hot coil, is produced using continuous casting slab as raw material. The slab is heated to 1100–1250℃ in a reheating furnace, then rolled into steel strip through roughing and finishing mills. After laminar cooling to the specified temperature, the strip is coiled into finished products.
2. Production Process
Heating: The slab is evenly heated to the required rolling temperature in the reheating furnace.
Rough Rolling: The thick slab is rolled into intermediate transfer bar by roughing mill.
Finish Rolling: Rolled to target thickness and width via 7-stand continuous rolling units.
Cooling: Laminar cooling system controls temperature precisely to guarantee mechanical properties.
Coiling: The steel strip is coiled, then cooled naturally before finishing treatment.
Finishing: Including leveling, recoiling, slitting, shearing, inspection and packaging.

Thickness: 1.2–25.4 mm (Thin gauge: 1.2–3.0 mm; Medium & heavy gauge: 3.0–25.4 mm)
Width: 600–1900 mm (Common sizes: 800/1000/1250/1500/1800 mm)
Inner Diameter: 762 mm (Standard)
Outer Diameter: 1200–2050 mm
Coil Weight: 10–30 tons (Regular weight: 20–25 tons)
4. Grades & Execution Standards
4.1 Common Carbon Structural Steel
Q235B: Yield strength ≥235MPa, Tensile strength 370–500MPa, widely used for structural parts.
SPHC: Low carbon grade with excellent stamping performance, applied for cold forming, home appliances and storage racks.
SS400: JIS standard steel, tensile strength ≥400MPa, for general structural components.
Applicable Standards: GB/T 3274, JIS G3131, JIS G3101
4.2 High Strength Low Alloy Steel
Q355B (Q345B): Yield strength ≥355MPa, Tensile strength 470–630MPa, suitable for bridges, machinery and steel structures.
510L/610L/700L: Automobile beam steel with high strength and good toughness.
Applicable Standards: GB/T 1591, GB/T 3273
4.3 Special-purpose Steel
Shipbuilding Steel: AH32/AH36/DH36, used for ship hulls and offshore platforms.
Line Pipe Steel: X42/X52/X60/X70, for oil & gas transmission pipelines.
Pressure Vessel Steel: Q345R, applied to pressure vessels and boiler drums.
Weathering Steel: Q355NH, for outdoor steel structures, bridges and containers.

6. Surface Condition & Characteristics
Surface Status: Black hot-rolled surface with uniform oxide scale. Free from cracks and inclusions; slight color difference, indentations and pitting are acceptable.
Key Features: High strength, good toughness, excellent weldability and formability, competitive cost, high dimensional accuracy and stable flatness.
7. Product Classification
7.1 By Delivery Condition
As-rolled Coil: Delivered directly after rolling with cost advantages.
Leveled Coil: Processed by leveler for better flatness and cleaner surface.
Finished Coil: Recoiled, edge-trimmed and defect-removed with precise dimensions.
7.2 By Thickness
Thin Gauge Coil: 1.2–3.0 mm
Medium & Heavy Gauge Coil: 3.0–25.4 mm

Delivery Time: 5–7 working days for stock goods; delivery time for forward orders subject to contract agreement.
