Hot Rolled Steel Coil Detailed Product Description
1. Basic Product Definition
Hot-Rolled Steel Coil (HR Coil) is produced by heating continuous casting slab above recrystallization temperature (900-1250℃), then going through rough rolling, finish rolling, laminar cooling and coiling process to form coiled steel. It is a core semi-finished steel material and essential raw material for cold rolling, welded pipe, steel structure and other downstream industries.
2. Production Process
Slab Preparation: Adopt 150-250mm thick continuous casting slab free of surface cracks and inclusions.
Heating: Heat evenly to 1200-1250℃ in walking beam furnace for good ductility.
Descaling: Remove surface scale by high-pressure water to avoid surface defects.
Rough Rolling: Reduce slab thickness steadily and control plate shape uniformity.
Finish Rolling: Roll to targeted thickness with high precision through continuous rolling mills.
Laminar Cooling: Cool rapidly to stabilize metallographic structure and mechanical properties.
Coiling: Form standard steel coils with regular inner diameter.
Finishing: Slit, cut to length and process into required steel plates or strips.

6. Surface Feature & Performance
The product presents grey-blue oxide scale with ordinary surface finish, free from cracks, bubbles, scars and impurities. It features good ductility, excellent weldability and cost-effective price. Delivered in hot rolled condition without coating, available for pickling, sand blasting, galvanizing and color coating processing.
