Product Introduction:
Process control of spray molding for FRP storage tanks
I. Selection of spray process parameters for FRP storage tanks:
1. Resin content: In spray-molded products, the resin content is controlled at around 90%.
2. Spray pressure: When the resin viscosity is 0.2Pa·s and the pressure of the resin tank is 0.05 - 0.15MPa, the atomization pressure is 0.3 - 0.55MPa to ensure uniform mixing of components.
3. Spray gun angle: Different angles result in different mixing distances of the sprayed resin. Generally, an angle of 20° is selected, and the distance between the spray gun and the mold is 350 - 400mm. When changing the distance, the spray gun angle should be adjusted to ensure that all components intersect and mix near the mold surface and prevent the glue from flying away.
II. Spray molding:
① The ambient temperature or resin temperature should be controlled at (25 ± 5)℃. If it is too high, the spray gun is prone to blockage; if it is too low, the mixing is uneven and the curing is slow.
② There should be no moisture in the spray machine system, otherwise, it will affect the product quality. ③ Before molding, spray a layer of resin on the mold first, and then spray the resin-fiber mixed layer.
④ Before spray molding of the FRP storage tank, adjust the air pressure first to control the resin and glass fiber content.
⑤ The spray gun should move evenly to prevent missing spraying. Do not move in an arc. The overlap between two rows should not be more than 1/3 to ensure uniform coverage and thickness.
⑥ After spraying one layer, use a roller to compact it in time. Pay attention to the edges, corners, and uneven surfaces to ensure that each layer is flattened, air bubbles are removed, and fibers are not lifted to cause burrs.
⑦ After spraying each layer, conduct an inspection. Spray the next layer after it is qualified.
⑧ The last layer should be sprayed thinner to make the surface smooth.
