Meet your testing needs
Whether it is to check the consistency of incoming material batches, or to conduct a quick quality check on products by examining the flow characteristics of materials used in the manufacturing process, or to compare flow rate values with reference to standard industrial processes as part of product development, or to select new materials or formulations to optimize existing processes, it is particularly important to choose the right melt flow rate tester for your application.
Solutions to meet all your testing needs
The MFi series melt rate testers are very suitable for performing the tests of Procedure A, B, C of ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238.
The MFi series has unparalleled accuracy and reliability. Our new generation of melt flow rate testers can test at a temperature up to 450°C and the piston displacement accuracy is up to 0.02 mm, providing great flexibility for your testing needs.
It is equipped with a 7-inch capacitive color touch screen user interface, an easy-to-use cleaning system, and functions of automatic material compaction and cleaning and material expulsion, maximizing laboratory efficiency and minimizing costly errors.

Safe and convenient mass handling
1. Manual weight selector
Using the manual weight selector enables safer and more convenient test operations. Our solution relies on a patented positioning sensor to prevent operators from selecting the wrong weights and making costly mistakes.
2. Weight lifting device
The electric weight lifting device is suitable for automatic and precise mass testing applications. Using the lifting device reduces the operator's interaction with the mass, which helps ensure consistent application of these masses across different tests and operators.
3. Test weights
Apply a single test weight according to your test requirements. Our full set of weights can meet the requirements of all existing test standards.
4. Safety shield
Prevent operators from accidentally entering the equipment test area to avoid dangers and improve the safety of multi-channel laboratories.
High-performance solution
High flow rate solution
In addition to the standard 325 g piston and die plug, our zero-gravity and lightweight pistons also facilitate the testing of high-fluidity materials. Different plunger heads improve stability and allow the equipment to handle materials with extremely high MFR (1600 g/10 min and above).Melt cutting device
The electric melt cutting device can perform simple and repeatable cutting of the extrudate according to time or position to obtain accurate and repeatable test results.Removable die baffle
Using the die baffle system enables quick and convenient cleaning operations. Simply pull the handle once to release the die and clean the die and its surrounding area, allowing the equipment to quickly return to the testing state.
Simple and easy-to-use operation interface
1. Safe working area:
The location of the control panel can prevent sample debris from damaging it. At the same time, it increases the width of the testing area and improves the safety of operation.
2. Intelligent user operation interface:
Using our patented solution, users can quickly and easily create test methods by entering only three items of data. User permissions can be configured for safer and error-free test methods. Real-time viewing of charts (MFR/MVR and individual measured values) and test results is available.
3. Real-time help
Whether you are an experienced user or a novice operator, you can benefit from real-time help. This function is designed to reduce the necessary training for novice operators and avoid costly errors during the testing process by providing help on each screen at any time.
Automatic compaction and material feeding system
1. Compaction
This unit compacts the material under test with a constant pressure, thereby achieving a higher level of accuracy and repeatability.
2. Material feeding
The material is extruded until the conditions for starting the test are met.
3. Final expulsion
Avoid materials getting stuck in the barrel and facilitate cleaning operations.
Bluehill Melt Software
The MFi series is supported by Instron's Bluehill® Melt software. Bluehill® Melt is equipped with easy - to - understand icons and workflows, which simplifies the process of training users and setting up tests, thus helping you to maximize laboratory efficiency while minimizing costly errors.
1. Send test methods to one or more test devices
2. Manage multiple melt flow units via a wired network
3. Automatically generate test reports using configurable naming conventions
4. Create customizable reports (pdf) and export files (csv)
5. Include remote technical support
