Wireless Products Exported to Korea With KCC Certification
The Korea Certification Commission (KCC) certification is a mandatory certification system in South Korea for telecommunications equipment and radio products,
Managed by the Radio Research Agency (RRA) under the Korea Communications Commission. This certification ensures that the product complies with South Korea's electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio frequency (RF), and telecommunications related regulatory requirements.
Scope of application of KCC certification
KCC certification applies to the following product categories:
(1) Telecommunication Equipment
Telephone, modem, router, switch
VoIP equipment, fiber optic communication equipment
(2) Radio Equipment
Bluetooth devices (such as headphones, speakers)
Wi Fi devices (routers, IoT devices)
Wireless microphone, RFID device
Drones, onboard radar, short-range wireless devices (SRD)
5G/LTE equipment, satellite communication equipment
(3) Information Technology Equipment (ITE)
Computers, servers, printers
Display and storage devices (if wireless functionality is involved)
(4) Other products that require compliance with South Korean radio regulations
Partial medical equipment (such as wireless transmission devices)
Industrial wireless devices
KCC certification process:
(1) Confirm product category
Determine whether the product belongs to telecommunications equipment, radio equipment, or ITE equipment to choose the correct authentication path.
(2) Testing requirements
EMC testing (electromagnetic compatibility, such as radiation and anti-interference)
RF testing (RF performance, frequency range, transmission power, etc.)
Safety testing (if applicable, some products must comply with KC safety certification)
(3) Submit application
Submit an application to RRA through a local agent in Korea (non Korean companies must specify).
Provide technical documents (circuit diagrams, manuals, test reports, etc.).
(4) Laboratory testing
Testing can be conducted in RRA accredited laboratories (either in South Korea or internationally CB certified laboratories).
(5) Audit and certification
RRA reviews the test report and issues the KCC certification certificate upon approval.
The product needs to be labeled with KCC logo and Korean warning language.
(6) Market supervision
Korean customs and market supervision agencies will conduct spot checks to ensure product compliance.
KCC certification mark requirements:
Certified products must be labeled with the following information:
KCC logo (must include certification number, such as "R-XXX-KCC-XXX")
Korean warning language (such as "무파적합イ평가완료" or "무ス설비적합동평가완료")
