FCC-ID certification for wireless Bluetooth products
FCC ID Certification Process
1. The customer submits a complete test sample with all accessories to the laboratory.
2. The customer must provide complete technical documentation (application form, circuit diagram, PCB layout, bill of materials, product manual, circuit description, and block diagram). This documentation must be in English electronic format.
3. The laboratory tests the product and issues a test report.
4. The laboratory reviews the data and report.
5. The laboratory submits the test report and technical documentation.
6. Upon passing the test, a certificate is issued.
The following documents are required to apply for an FCC ID:
1. Certification application form (applicant's name, product name, model, address, phone number, fax number, contact person, and position)
2. Frequency calibration software and method (for the transmitter, include the fundamental frequency of the transmitter and, preferably, the frequency band used)
3. The applicant's GC number. This can be applied for free on the FCC certification website. Our company can assist with registration, with an estimated fee of US$75. Once successfully registered, the company code is permanently valid, meaning the merchant does not need to re-apply for a GC number the next time they apply for FCC ID certification for a new product.
4. The FCC ID includes the Grantee Code (company code) (5 alphanumeric characters) and the product code (1-14 alphanumeric characters).
5. Location and specifications of the FCC label.
6. Operational description (description of key functions).
7. Block diagram.
8. Circuit diagram.
9. Hardware and software version information.
10. Simple operating instructions.
(The operating instructions must include a fixed FCC ID warning, which the certification company can provide.)
The FCC ID includes the Grantee Code (company code) (5 alphanumeric characters) and the product code (1-14 alphanumeric characters).
The Grantee Code (company code) is a 3-digit alphanumeric character. Each Grantee Code represents only one company. This 3-digit number is provided by the FCC and cannot be customized by the customer.
Once the application is successful, it becomes a fixed number and serves as the first 5 digits of all FCC ID applications for that company.
The certification process takes approximately two weeks.
