Woodward 8280-423 Digital speed controller
The Woodward 8280-423 is a low-pressure dual-engine mechanical load-sharing digital governor from the 723PLUS series. It is compatible with medium-to-high speed (>100 rpm) diesel/gas engines and is primarily used for coordinated speed/load control in marine dual-engine propulsion. It also features single-throttle operation, flexible coupling torsional vibration filtering, and fuel limiting functions, making it suitable for harsh industrial/marine operating conditions. Currently, it is mainly used for in-service system spare parts maintenance.
Core Performance: Control and Measurement Capabilities: Dual speed signal input, compatible with MPU/proximity probes, adaptable to medium-to-high speed (>100 rpm) engine speed feedback, supports single-throttle operation and dual-engine mechanical load sharing, ensuring balanced power output from both engines.
Features flexible coupling torsional vibration filtering and multi-mode fuel limiting (intake pressure/external fuel limiting), adaptable to flexible coupling power transmission, suppressing torsional vibration and protecting the transmission system.
Electrical and Power Supply: 18-40V DC low-voltage power supply, 40W power, 7A starting current surge protection, compatible with marine 12/24V DC systems, with overvoltage/reverse connection protection.
Outputs include 4 analog outputs (0-10V/4-20mA selectable) and 2 alarm relays (secondary/primary), supporting remote speed control and fuel rack position feedback, suitable for actuator drive and status monitoring.
Communication and Safety: Supports Modbus and other protocols, can be linked with marine monitoring systems for remote monitoring and data acquisition, suitable for distributed control scenarios.
Complies with marine vibration and electromagnetic interference resistance standards, operating temperature -20℃ to 60℃, suitable for harsh marine conditions such as humidity and salt spray.
Diagnosis and Maintenance: Integrated fault self-diagnosis (speed signal loss, actuator failure, power supply abnormality, etc.), real-time alarms and triggering safety protection to ensure power system stability.
It supports on-site programming and parameter adjustment, menu-driven operation, convenient maintenance, and is compatible with dual-machine systems for non-stop maintenance.
