3.Performance

YWDP-2 is based on the principle of linear laser attenuation by precipitation particles and employs optical spectral processing technology. It can accurately measure the diameter, velocity, and distribution density of precipitation particles (liquid, solid, or mixed) as they pass through a laser beam. By combining extensive software calculations and analysis, it can derive meteorological parameters such as rainfall intensity, cumulative rainfall, weather phenomena, visibility, and more. Its data accuracy exceeds 95%. 


YWDP-2 is capable of measuring over a dozen meteorological parameters and functions as an all-weather rain gauge, weather phenomena identifier, visibility sensor, and high-performance meteorological instrument integrated into one.


4.Feature

(1)Automatic Weather Phenomenon Monitoring: The device can directly output weather codes such as drizzle, light rain, moderate rain, heavy rain, hail, snow, fog, etc.

(2)Artificial Rainfall Assessment: Through networked detection, analyzing changes in rainfall amount, droplet spectra, and their variations over time and location, quantitative assessment of artificial rainfall effects can be performed.

(3)Precipitation Measurement: It can directly replace tipping bucket rain gauges, measuring precipitation distribution and quantity, without needing to consider rainfall density, duration, or type.

(4)Road Conditions and Airport Weather Alerts: The equipment can measure current weather conditions and visibility, making it suitable for highway management and airport takeoff and landing management.

(5)Early Flood Warning: It can rapidly and accurately measure precipitation amount and distribution, providing real-time data for early flood warning.

(6)Measurement of Particle Size and Velocity Distribution in the Air: It can precisely measure important meteorological parameters such as particle size and velocity for each type of precipitation.

(7)Maintenance-Free Laser Technology: Using maintenance-free laser technology with no moving parts, it is suitable for unmanned operation.

(8)Lightning Protection and Automatic Heating: It can reliably operate in all environmental and weather conditions. Through software control, it can be energy-efficient and equipped with self-heating capabilities.

(9)Streamlined Hood Design: The streamlined hood design significantly reduces wind disturbance, allowing precipitation particles to freely enter the optical measurement area.
