Energy Saving Analysis of Two-Stage Screw Compression
After the first stage of compression, air is cooled by enhanced oil injection, reducing the temperature for the second stage intake. The two-stage compression system uses a low pressure ratio to set the cycle pressure, significantly reducing the compression ratio per stage compared to single-stage compression. This results in a drastic decrease in cyclic compression work. Under the same power input, two-stage compression can increase output by up to 15% compared to single-stage compression, achieving 15% energy savings.
Two-Stage Compression Process
Air enters the first stage compression through an air filter, where it is mixed with a small amount of lubricating oil.
The mixed gas is compressed to intermediate pressure and enters the cooling passage, contacting a large amount of oil mist to significantly reduce temperature.
The cooled compressed air enters the second stage rotor for secondary compression, completing the process efficiently.
Finally, the compressed air is discharged through the exhaust flange.
