The specific working principles are as follows:


Establishing communication connections: The module establishes a communication link between the Tricon controller and the Honeywell TDC-3000 control system through the Hiway gateway and Local Control Network (LCN). It can also connect to Honeywell's older TDC 2000 control system via the Data Hiway. It supports redundant BNC connections directly to the Data Hiway, providing a physical foundation for data transmission.


Data conversion and transmission: This module has a functional capacity equivalent to four extended Data Hiway Port (DHP) addresses and provides eight Hiway addresses. It converts the data format of the Tricon controller into a format recognizable by the Honeywell control system, and vice versa. After being processed within the module, the data is transmitted to the target system through the corresponding communication lines, and all data can usually be refreshed in less than 0.5 seconds.


Communication protocol processing: Tricon controller communication includes protocols such as the Tricon System Access Application (TSAA) protocol. The Hiway interface module encapsulates and decapsulates data in accordance with relevant protocol rules to ensure accurate transmission and interaction of data between different systems, enabling upper-level devices such as computers and operator workstations on the LCN or Data Hiway to communicate with the Tricon controller.


Status monitoring and fault tolerance: The module has a hot standby function, allowing online replacement of faulty modules. At the same time, it is equipped with various status indicators, such as module status (pass, fault, active), Hiway interface status (online, interface status, call received), etc., to monitor its own working status in real-time. If a fault occurs, it can be detected and handled in a timely manner to ensure the continuity and stability of system communication.

Efficient data processing: It has a functional capacity equivalent to four extended Data Hiway Port (DHP) addresses, provides eight Hiway addresses, and can usually refresh all data in less than 0.5 seconds, enabling fast data transmission and update.


Comprehensive status monitoring: It is equipped with various status indicators, such as module status (pass, fault, active), Hiway interface status (online, interface status, call received), channel activity status (channel A, B active), transmission status (sending), standby module status (inserted, ready), etc. These indicators can monitor the working status of the module in real-time, facilitating operation and maintenance personnel to timely understand the operation status and troubleshoot faults.


Excellent electrical characteristics: It has 2 isolated (AC-coupled) Data Hiway channels, each with 2 polling response switches, a baud rate of 250 kbps, a module load power of less than 10 watts, and an isolation voltage of 500 VDC. These features can ensure the stability and anti-interference ability of data transmission to a certain extent.


Support for hot swapping: It has a hot standby function, allowing online replacement of faulty modules without stopping the machine, reducing system downtime, and improving system availability and maintenance convenience.

Chemical production process control: The production process of chemical plants is complex, involving the monitoring and control of many parameters. The TRICONEX 4509 module can connect the Tricon controller to the Honeywell TDC-3000 control system, enabling operators to monitor parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow of chemical plants through Honeywell's operation stations.
