Hardware configuration

Microprocessor: A 32 MHz MC68040 enhanced 32-bit microprocessor can be selected, featuring an 8KB cache, MMU (Memory Management Unit), and FPU (Floating-point Operation Unit). It is also possible to choose the 25 MHz MC68040 32-bit microprocessor, which also has an 8KB cache, MMU and FPU. It is also possible to choose the 25 MHz MC68LC040 enhanced 32-bit microprocessor with 8KB cache and MMU.

Memory

DRAM: 4MB of on-board DRAM is provided, which can be expanded to 16MB through customer-installable memory modules. There are 1MB, 4MB, and 8MB parity protection DRAM options available. The DRAM architecture is non-interleaved for 1MB and interleaved for 4MB and 8MB.

SRAM: Equipped with 512KB SRAM and a spare battery, it is used to store critical data and configuration information in cases such as system power failure.

Flash memory: It has 1MB of flash memory for the on-board monitor/debugger or user-installed firmware. In addition, there is a 32-pin PLCC EPROM socket.

Interface

VME bus interface: It has A32/D64 VME bus master/slave interfaces, has the function of a system controller, supports the VME D64 specification, and can achieve high-speed data transmission and system expansion.

Serial communication port: There are two serial communication ports. The console port is used as EIA-232-D DTE, and the second port can be configured by the user for EIA-232-D/EIA-422 (V.36) DTE/DCE, facilitating serial data communication with other devices.

IndustryPack ports: Four 16 or 32-bit IndustryPack® ports, each with a DMA channel, can be connected to various IndustryPack modules to achieve different I/O, control, interface, analog and digital functions.

Other optional interfaces: Optional SCSI bus interface with 32-bit local bus burst DMA, capable of connecting SCSI devices; Optional Ethernet transceiver interface with 32-bit local bus DMA for implementing network communication functions.

Timers: Six 32-bit timers (four without VMEbus) and watchdog timers, which can be used for scheduled operations, task scheduling, and system monitoring, etc.
