Working principle

Microprocessor core computing: It can be equipped with an enhanced 32-bit microprocessor such as 32MHz MC68040, featuring 8KB cache, MMU and FPU. The microprocessor reads programs and data from memory, executes arithmetic and logical operations and other instructions, and controls the collaborative work of each component of the module. It is the computing and control core of the module.

Memory data storage and interaction: Equipped with 4MB, 8MB or 16MB shared DRAM for storing running programs and data. The 512KB SRAM is equipped with a spare battery, which can preserve key data and configuration information in case of power failure. 1MB flash memory is used to store on-board monitors, debugger programs or user-installed firmware, providing basic program support for system startup and operation. Microprocessors frequently interact with this memory for data.

VME bus communication: It has A32/D64 VME bus master/slave interfaces and supports the VME D64 specification. It can act as the master device to actively initiate data transmission or as the slave device to respond to the master device's request. It communicates with other VME devices through the VME bus to achieve data sharing and system expansion.

Serial port data transmission: It has two serial communication ports. The console port is used as EIA-232-D DTE, and the second port can be configured by the user as EIA-232-D/EIA-422 (V.36) DTE/DCE, which can perform point-to-point or point-to-multipoint data transmission with devices such as sensors and actuators that have serial interfaces.

IndustryPack module expansion: Equipped with four 16 or 32-bit IndustryPack interfaces, it can connect various IndustryPack modules, such as analog or digital input/output modules, etc. The microprocessor communicates with the expansion module through these interfaces to achieve functional expansion and control of external devices as well as data acquisition.

Timer function: It includes six 32-bit timers (four without VMEbus) and watchdog timers. The timer can be used to perform tasks at regular intervals, while the watchdog timer is used to monitor the system's operating status. If the system fails to "feed the dog" on time due to a fault, it will trigger a reset operation to ensure the stable operation of the system.

Application field

Industrial automation: It can be used for the control and monitoring of factory automated production lines to achieve precise control of the production process, such as controlling the movement of robotic arms and monitoring the operation status of production equipment. It can also be used for data collection to provide data support for production optimization.

Transportation system: It can be used to manage traffic signals, adjust the signal duration in real time according to traffic flow, and can also be applied in vehicle identification, toll collection system control and other aspects in intelligent transportation systems.

Medical equipment: It can be applied to medical imaging equipment such as CT and MRI, controlling the scanning actions and image data processing of the equipment. It can also be used in laboratory instruments to achieve precise control and data acquisition of the instruments.

Communication equipment: It can be used as a base station controller to manage and control the operation of communication base stations, ensuring stable signal transmission and reception. It can also be used for the control and data processing of other communication equipment.

Energy management: It is used in power substations to monitor and control the production, distribution and transmission of electricity. It can also be applied in energy monitoring systems to conduct real-time monitoring and analysis of energy consumption, achieving efficient energy management.

Testing and measurement equipment: In scientific research and laboratories, it can be used for data collection, gathering various data during the experimental process, and also for controlling experimental equipment to achieve automatic control of the experimental process.
