Overview

The COIN-series optical linear encoders are high-precision accessories featuring integrated optical zero, internal interpolation, and automatic adjustment functions. These compact encoders, with a thickness of only 6mm, are suitable for various high-precision measurement equipment, such as coordinate measuring machines and microscope stages.

Technical Characteristics and Advantages

1. High-Precision Optical Zero Pozition: The encoder integrates an optical zero with bidirectional zero return repeatability.

2. Internal Interpolation Function: The encoder has an internal interpolation function, eliminating the need for an external interpolation box, saving space.

3. High Dynamic Performance: Supports maximum speeds up to 8m/s.

4. Automatic Adjustment Functions: Includes automatic gain control (AGC), automatic offset compensation (AOC), and automatic balance control (ABC) to ensure stable signals and low interpolation errors.

5. Large Installation Tolerance: Position installation tolerance of ±0.08mm, reducing usage difficulty.

 Electrical Connection

The COIN series optical linear encoders offer differential TTL and SinCos 1Vpp output signal types. Electrical connections use 15-pin or 9-pin connectors, with allowable load currents of 30mA and 10mA, respectively, and an impedance of 120 ohms.

 Output Signals

- Differential TTL: Provides two differential signals A and B, and one differential reference zero signal Z. The signal level complies with RS-422 standards.

- SinCos 1Vpp: Provides Sin and Cos signals and a differential reference zero signal REF, with signal levels between 0.6V and 1.2V.

 Installation Information

- Dimensions: L32mm×W13.6mm×H6.1mm

- Weight: Encoder 7g, cable 20g/m

- Power Supply: 5V±10%, 300mA

- Output Resolution: Differential TTL 5μm to 100nm, SinCos 1Vpp 40μm

- Maximum Speed: 8m/s, depending on resolution and counter minimum clock frequency

- Reference Zero: Optical sensor with bidirectional repeatability of 1LSB.

 Scale Information

The COIN encoders are compatible with CLS scales and CA40 metal disks, with an accuracy of ±10μm/m, linearity of ±2.5μm/m, maximum length of 10m, and thermal expansion coefficient of 10.5μm/m/℃.

 Ordering Information

Encoder series number CO4, supports both steel tape scales and disks, offers various output resolutions and wiring options, and cable lengths ranging from 0.5 meters to 5 meters.

 Other Features

- Anti-Pollution Capability: Utilizes large-area single-field scanning technology for high anti-pollution capability.

- Calibration Function: Built-in EEPROM to save calibration parameters, requiring calibration to ensure accuracy.

This product is suitable for applications requiring high precision and high dynamic performance, especially in installations with limited space.
