IEC600065 Dielectric Strength Test Instrument for Insulating Material
The electric strength test device is designed and manufactured according to the requirements of IEC60065 and UL1310 standards, and is mainly used to test thin insulating materials for dielectric voltage withstand strength when connected to a hipot tester (ex. transformer insulating materials, circuit board insulation)
The bracket part of the electric strength test device is designed reference to IEC60065 Figure 6. It adopts an integral structure and is made of 304 thick plate material. In order to improve the anti-electricity and creepage performance of the insulating plate, the surface is sanded and polished, and the minimum distance between the edge of the bottom plate and the bracket is >35mm. This design can meet the test requirements of 12 KV strength below 2000 meters above sea level.
The apparatus is deemed to comply with the requirement, if the insulation resistance measured after 1 min is not less than the values given in Table and no flash-over or breakdown occurs during the dielectric strength test.
When testing enclosures of insulating material, a metal foil is pressed tightly against accessible parts.
