VOK®-411 liquid rheology agent for low polarity solventborne and solvent-free coating systems to improve anti-sag and anti-settling properties. The additive produces a high thixotropic flow behavior. Can be added later.

Storage and transportation 

Sensitive to humidity. Store under dry conditions. During storage, the slight turbidity of the material has no effect on the rheological properties.

Product features and benefits 

When stirred into the coating system, the additive forms a three-dimensional network structure. The resulting thixotropy is extremely suitable for preventing sedimentation and increasing sagging resistance without affecting leveling. Since VOK®-411 interacts with the resin used, its rheological properties are also affected by the type and amount of resin. 

Recommended Use 

This additive is recommended for use in low-polarity systems. VOK®-410 is more suitable for medium-polar systems. VOK®-420 is recommended for high polar and waterborne systems.

Recommended dosage 

0.2-1% of the total formula (in the form supplied) for anti-settling. 

0.5-2% of the total formula (in the form of supply) for anti-sagging. 

The above recommended dosage is for reference, and the appropriate dosage needs to be determined through a series of tests. 

Addition method and processing guidance 

This additive should be added to the paint under moderate shear stirring conditions to ensure fast and uniform dispersion. There is no need to control the temperature. 

The additive can be added to abrasives and is also suitable as a post-additive for viscosity adjustment. 

Special considerations 

If desiccant (drier) is used, discoloration may occur due to the formation of metal complexes. The rheological properties need to be tested here.
