pH meter is an analytical instrument that measure the hydrogen-ion activity in water-based solutions, indicating its acidity or alkalinity expressed as pH. It is widely used in various fields such as universities, environmental protection, pharmacy, food, agriculture, hygiene, geological prospecting, metallurgy, and ocean. pH measurement are applied in the usual detection of acid rain, surface water, industrial wastewater, drinking water, beverages, daily chemical products, textiles, etc. As the hydrogen-ion activity is usually very small and it is inconvenient to use, the pH value is used to indicate the acidity and alkalinity of the aqueous solution. The negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration is the pH value.
