The apparatus is used to test the water permeability of sandy soil or non-cohesive soil by constant head method. The tester mainly comprised of two part, the permeability part and wood hammer, The permeability part is comprised of cylinder, permeability board, scaleplate, pressure measuring tube, 3 pressure measuring tube are installed on the scaleplate with interval to 100±0.44mm, the water level can be read out on the scaleplate, inside the pressure measuring tube the copper wire cloth are installed which can prevent the fine sand flow out along with water, there is drain hole under the permeability cylinder, after release the screw then can drain the water. The wood hammer is used to compact the specimen. The standard test temperature is 20 degree .
