Pigging valve (also known as PIG valve); pigging valve is a new type of valve, which is a launching or receiving device for pigging (pigging ball, leather bowl cleaner, foam pig, etc.). It also has the blocking function same as common used trunnion ball valve. It is widely used in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, gas, water delivery, printing and dyeing, food, etc. it is essential special equipment for the construction, cleaning, maintenance, detection and management of pipelines. With the use of pigging valve and corresponding pigging device, it can more easily complete the work of pipeline cleaning, emptying, isolation and orderly transmission of media. The pig valve can completely replace the complex pig launcher and receiver which are used in the traditional way.
Type C is a standard pig valve. The ball hole is about 25% larger than the flow port of the pipeline, so as to ensure a small amount of continuous flow of the conveying medium after the pig is in place (when the pig stays in the receiving valve).
Type B is a pig valve with bypass. Two elliptical channels are arranged on the ball body perpendicular to the ball hole direction, and the flow passage is about 25% of the cross-sectional area of the pipeline. This structure ensures that the pig valve will not block the flow even when launching or receiving the pig. Type B pig valve cannot be used as a block valve.
Type S pig valve is mainly used to isolate the transmission medium. Its sphere hole area is about 3% larger than the pipe flow area, and there is an additional seal in the sphere hole of the receiving pig valve to ensure that the seal is formed when the isolation pig reaches the receiving pig valve and the ideal isolation effect is obtained. What's more, it can protect the floating plate of inner floating roof tank during pigging, so as to avoid potential safety hazards.
