After the border conflict between China and India, India has been making a lot of small moves. After blocking dozens of Chinese apps, India plans to ban 275 more Chinese app apps! (see the article for details: India plans to ban 275 "Chinese apps"! Ali, fast selling, millet, fast hand fear "gun" 28 days, according to "today's India" media reported: after the suppression of China's APP, India government is considering China's imports of more than 370 kinds of Kwai Fu restrictions.
In April this year, India announced that 12 major products, including lighting, keyboards, Bluetooth headsets, USB external hard drives, induction cookers and rice cookers, have been subject to bis compulsory certification inspection since October 1, and will be fully implemented by March next year.
India today
According to the media report, the government is considering imposing import restrictions on various types of goods mainly imported from China. Toys, steel pipes, steel bars, consumer electronics, telecommunications products, heavy machinery, paper, rubber products and glass will be included in India's mandatory standards (BIS) system next year, according to a report published by the times of India.
From March 2021, many non-conforming and non essential imports will begin to be restricted. Ram Vilas paswan, Minister of consumer affairs, said that after the Indian Bureau of standards had prepared the Ministry of Commerce's regulations on high-quality imports, many unqualified and non essential imports would be stopped from March 2021. BIS will develop mandatory certification standards for 371 product projects by March 2021.
According to the report, the 371 tax items cover a number of sub areas, from steel, chemical, pharmaceutical, electrical machinery to furniture and toys. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, director general of BIS, further said: India's Ministry of Commerce has determined tariffs on 371 commodities, including Chinese goods. We are working to speed up the establishment of these mandatory standards to strengthen import requirements and improve law enforcement at all government ports, including kandla, jnpt and Cochin. BIS will send relevant personnel together with customs officers to carry out on-site inspection of the goods at the port. At the same time, the product packaging such as country of origin identification, production date, product validity period and so on are strictly inspected. Tiwari added that mandatory certification standards for most products will be developed by December and the rest by March 2021.

The measure will suspend imports of substandard products, the report said. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Commerce has identified these products last year, and some officials have said that under the "atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative, the implementation of import restriction procedures has been accelerated. Under this initiative, India plans to reduce unnecessary imports and increase exports.
"Atmanirbhar Bharat" is actually an upgraded version of India's manufacturing plan. Through economic development, helping small and medium-sized enterprises, promoting infrastructure construction, improving business environment, and realizing self-reliance driven by technology, its main purpose is to reduce imports and expand exports. In order to realize the dream of "made in India" as a big country, India has made great efforts.
Although the aim of the Indian government is to eliminate substandard imports, it seems that the purpose is to reduce imports from China as much as possible, the media said. It is not only Chinese goods, but also the government's crackdown on many Chinese bis certification applications.
As early as April 22 this year, India issued a notice on technical trade measures (notification No. g / TBT / N / ind / 44 / add. 7) and published the product catalogue of the fourth batch of "electronic and information technology products (compulsory registration requirements) 2012", adding 12 new products, including 2 LED lighting products, 5 information products, 3 audio-visual products and 2 home appliances products, involving lighting, keyboard, blue Dental earphone, USB external hard disk drive, induction cooker, rice cooker, etc. At the same time, the circular also pointed out that the new catalogue will be implemented six months after the date of publication, i.e. October 1, 2020.
At present, India has issued 4 batches of product catalogues on electronic and information technology products (compulsory registration requirements) 2012 decree, including 56 information products, household appliances, audio-visual products and lighting products into the compulsory registration requirements. For these products, it is required by the law that the testing and registration of corresponding standards must be carried out in the laboratory recognized by bis in India, and the BIS logo should be pasted on the body or outer package. At present, BIS has issued more than 30000 product certification certificates, covering almost every industrial field such as agricultural products, textiles, electronics, etc. More and more products exported to India are included in the category of compulsory certification products.

As a matter of fact, as early as the second half of 2018, Indian customs has begun to strictly inspect bis certification, and many sellers have been recruited and suffered serious losses. Due to the rapid development of e-commerce in India and its huge market potential, in addition to clothing, other categories of products such as fashion accessories, home decoration, kitchen appliances and personal electronic products are also sold in the local market
