EU's Preliminary Anti-dumping Ruling Against China's Aluminum Profiles!

On October 13, 2020, the European Commission issued an announcement to make an affirmative preliminary anti-dumping determination on aluminum extrusions originating in China, and decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on the enterprises involved for a period of six months from the day after the announcement was published in the official gazette. The tax rates are detailed in the table below. The CN (combined nomenclature) codes of the involved products are ex 7604 10 10, ex 7604 10 90, 7604 21 00, 76 04 29 10, 76 04 29 90, ex 7608 10 00, 76 08 20 81, 76 08 20 89 and ex 7610 90 90 (Taric codes are 7604 10 10 11, 76 04 10 90 11, 76 04 10 90 25, 76 04 10 90 80, 76 08 10 00 11, 76 08 10 00 80 and 76 10 90 90 90 10). The dumping and injury investigation period of this case is from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The injury analysis period is from January 1, 2016 to the end of dumping and injury investigation period.

Interested parties shall submit comments on the case within 15 natural days after the preliminary ruling takes effect, and submit an application for hearing within 5 natural days.

On February 14, 2020, the European Commission issued a notice saying that, in response to the application filed by European aluminum on behalf of manufacturers whose aluminum profile production accounts for more than 25% of the total output of similar products in the EU on January 3, 2020, the European Commission has launched an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum profiles originating in China.
