Base Pipe with Screen Jacket
Base Pipe with Screen Jacket is made out of a wire wrapped johnson screen jacket and a perforated based pipe. Perforated base pipe with high strength allows smaller wrap wire to be used to yield high collapse strength and larger open area. The perforated base pipe and wire wrapped screen jacket are welded together to form a reliable unit for deep and vertical well.The stainless steel pipe and API casing pipe can be used as base pipe.
The Johnson pipe based screen is recommended when high collapse resistance is required and when the screens’ length generates a high longitudinal constraint. The pipe strength allows smaller wrap wires to be used, yielding greater open area.
Pipe based well screen combines the hydraulic efficiency of a continuous slot screen with the strength of a pipe. This pipe strength allows smaller wrap wires to be used, yielding greater open area. Longitudinal support rods direct inflow to the nearest pipe perforation. Screen and pipe are welded together to make a rugged, reliable unit for deep vertical wells and long, horizontal remediation of supply wells. Fittings are available to meet most well design and installation requirements.
