*General Information
Spray drying is the most widely process for the liquid drying. It is suitable for liquor,latex, suspended liquid, paste liquid, powder and caking or solid products. So spray drying is very ideal process when the products require accurate particle size, water content and shape.
*Work Theory:
The air goes into the distributor on the top of the drier after being filtered and heated, and then the hot air goes into the drying chamber. The liquid is atomized into fog dripping by the high speed centrifugal atomizer, and then it contacts with the hot air in short time. The finished products will be discharged from the bottom of the drying tower and the cyclone separator, and the water gas will be discharged by the air blower.
*Characteristics:
The spray drying is the widest used technology in the liquid technology shaping and in the drying industry. It is most suitable. The drying speed is very quick. The liquid area after atomizing is bigger and 95%-98% water content will be evaporized in hot air stream. So the drying time just needs few seconds. It is quite suitable for heating sensitivity materials. The finished products are with good eveness, fluidity, solubility and high purity.
It is easy to operate and control. It can finish drying in one time for the humidity with 40%-60% ( sometimes it can be 90% for the special materials.) It doesn't need to crush and filter after drying, which reduce the production process and improve the purity. The particle size, density and water content can be adjusted by different operating condition.
*Drying example:
#Food: Amino acide, flavour, protein, milk powder, blood powder, sauce powder, coffee, tea powder, grape sugar, potassium sorbate, pectine, essence, starch, etc.
#Pottery: Alumina, Ziconia, magnesium titanate, china clay, porcelain clay and other metal oxide, etc.
#Medicine: Vitamin, Chinese traditional drugs, antibiotic, etc.
#Chemical Products: Dispensing painting, active dyestuff, organic catalyzer, white carbon, barm, washing powder, potassium carbonat, inorganic catalyzer and various kinds of waste liquid, etc.
